SUMMER CAMPS
Read into Science (Fact or Fiction)? – This is Fable Busters at its finest! We’ll discover the difference between fact and fiction in your favorite books and stories. All it takes is a little scientific investigation á la Sherlock Holmes! We’ll answer questions like: can a person actually jump tall buildings in a single bound? Are there creatures as small as a Who? Is it possible to play a game of Quidditch? In this entertaining camp, our little muggles will also learn about basic scientific principles and theories that will allow them to more easily question the world around them.
July 2 – July 6, August 13 – August 17 & ALL GIRLS WEEK July 23 – July 27
Science Olympiad – Let the games begin! In this “Jack of all Sciences” camp, we’ll cover just about every aspect of science and technology possible! Join us as we investigate ancient civilizations and compare their scientific methods with those of today. Learn how to design your own mousetrap or simple structure that can accomplish little tasks. Test your logic and knowledge as we work on daily engineering challenges. It’s our summer version of the Olympics, and here, everyone wins Gold!
July 9 – July 13, July 30 – August 3 & August 20 – August 24
Dynamic Planet – This down and dirty camp will explore Earth and what makes it unique from other planets in the universe. Find out about the forces that made our planet what it is today, including earth-shaking quakes, erupting volcanoes, plate tectonics and tides, including some of the highest in the world, which are found right here in our own backyard. We’ll also dig deep to discover fossils and find out how dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. And if you’ve ever wondered what the difference between a Paleontologist and an Archeologist is – we’ll explain.
July 16 – July 20, August 6 – August 10 & August 27 – August 31
